Oracle releases NetBeans 7.0

Hopefully, Oracle latest release Netbeans 7.0 is complete and ready to download says Mills. The new version is the IDC to support JDK 7. Netbeans 7.0 also adds additional controls and support for both of Oracle's application servers: Weblogic & GlassFish.

The NetBeans IDE is an integrated development environment available for Microsoft Windows, Mac, Linux and Solaris. The NetBeans project consists of an open-source IDE and an application platform that enable developers to create web, enterprise, desktop and mobile applications using the Java platform as well as PHP, JavaScript and Ajax, Groovy and Grails and C/C++. The NetBeans project is supported by a developer community including a selection of third-party plug-ins.

NetBeans IDE 7.0 introduces:
  • Language support for development to the Java SE 7 specification with the JDK 7 platform
  • Enhanced integration with the Oracle WebLogic server
  • Support for Oracle Database and GlassFish 3.1
  • Maven 3 and HTML5 editing support
  • A new GridBagLayout designer for improved Swing GUI development
  • Enhancements to the Java editor
  • Support for English, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Russian and Simplified Chinese.
